Bajaj Auto announced the launch of RE 60, an low cost car in New Delhi on the eve of Auto Expo 2012, the biggest auto show in India. The Re 60 which is considered as a challenge for Tata Nano. The company claims that the car would have a mileage of close to 40 km per litre and will have a 200 cc engine. Firstly the car might be exported to Sri lanka before it for sale in India.
The engine is a new water cooled DTSi (Digital Twin Spark Ignition) 4 valve and would give a maximum speed of 70km per hour. RE60 will be available in gasoline, liquid propane gas and compressed natural gas models an also the car has a seating capacity of four people.
